About Me
As a Data Engineer at the Physical Oceanography Distributed Active Archive Center (PO.DAAC) at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, I spend a lot of time thinking about scientific data: how we manage it, how we make it accessible, how we reduce the steep learning curves that can hinder scientific discovery. Building better, open, collaborative, software so that we can make complex data analysis more accessible is something I am passionate about.
I also have ongoing collaborations with:
- Dr. Lynn McMurdie at the University of Washington, where we fly airplanes into snowstorms as part of the Investigation of Microphysics and Precipitation in Atlantic Coast-Threatening Snowstorms (IMPACTS) field campaign
- Dr. Colin Goldblatt at the University of Victoria, where we use global climate models to better understand the role of clouds in regulating Earth’s climate over geologic timescales.
